Sequoia National Park

Some quick facts:
1. These trees are over 3,000 years old and are the largest living plants in the world.
2. Sequoias don't die of old age. They get too massive and fall over, due to shallow roots.
3. They are impervious to bugs, mold and fire because of their 3+ foot thick bark.
4. A man made a shelter out of a fallen tree in the 1800s and it is still in perfect shape today because Sequoias also don't decay.
5. The only thing that saved these monsters from getting cut back in the day was the fact that they splinter and don't make good 2x4s.
Anyways, they were so majestic and awe inspiring that they have been a major highlight so far... we might have to go back before returning to the mitten state!
(I hope these pics do them justice...)
